Vanessa Brown

Vanessa brings experience & knowledge, professional assertiveness, and enthusiasm to a project. She is an approachable and pragmatic architect who thrives on the challenge of a tricky project!

 

Studying at The Scott Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen, Vanessa graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree in Architecture. Having gained the necessary professional education and experience, she became a fully qualified Chartered Architect in 2013.

 

In her early career, Vanessa worked in Inverness for an award winning architectural practice and sister construction company, specialising in bespoke, high-end new-build projects. There, she gained a practical understanding of construction and an appreciation for labour and material costs. She uses this experience to create buildable and cost conscious designs.

Vanessa then worked with a well established Aberdeenshire architectural practice for almost 10 years. Starting as a project architect there, Vanessa was promoted to Director of Design after just a couple of years and worked as the lead architect on a large number of varied projects. Her involvement spanned all project stages, from survey and design, to gaining necessary planning and building warrant approvals, through the tender process, to contract administration and site inspections. Vanessa handled many projects through all of these stages, from inception to completion giving her a decade of solid and rounded experience.
